Sia: Elastic Heart

Sias 2014 song "Elastic Heart" is about having resiliance. Dance moms Maddy Zieglar and actor Shia LaBeouf feature in the elastic heart music video. My interpreation of the music video was a father daughter relationship. Maddy Zieglar and Shia Labeouf are in a cage, the father figure (LaBeouf) is trying to connect to his daughter (Zieglar) and find belonging in this relationship. trying to find belonging to someone significant in your life. My belief about Belonging is connected in my interpretation. In this music video I felt the value of Belonging to family is conveyed in the Elastic Heart video clip.

The song is by Sia an Australian born artist. Sia struggles finding belonging in the media, she finds publicity difficult to overcome. Sia fear of the publicity is overcome by performing covering up her face. Sia explained that she does not want to be "recognisable or famous". Sia finds acceptance and belonging through her singing and the way she performs her songs. At the 2015 Grammy awards. Sia permed a song with her back to the crowd wearing a wig covering up her face, during her performance Maddy Ziegler and Kristen Wiig danced. Sia's music videos feature a wig. The wig has helped Sia find a way to belong in the media and not be recognised. The wig holds a unkown identity for Sia. In Skrzynecki's 10 Mary Street, the persona's family find Belonging in their home. I perceved the Elastic Heart video clip as having a family in it. The persona's in elastic heart and 10 mary street both have a connection to something. A place (10 Mary ST) and eachover (Elastic Heart) . The AOS talks about the conection places or people have assosiated with Belonging, which is what both texts possess.
